We spent sunday at the fort worth stock show and rodeo with grams and popo. daddy had to work so it was the four of us :( we missed him and wish he could have enjoyed the day with us. the weather was gorgeous for walking around outside and through the stock show and the day was wonderful! ava had soooooo much fun and i believe she is an animal lover through and through. sorry, i accidently loaded the pictures backwards, and am too lazy to do it all over again, so we'll start at the end...this is ava watching the rodeo...
ava and i walking around the market center. grams and popo bought her a super cute pair of fuschia chaps...we haven't tried them on yet, i'm sure once we do she will not want them to come off...ever....(she has an elmo video where the noodle gang wears chaps and when it gets to their part she grabs one of her blankets and holds it at her waist...i think she is pretending it's chaps...now she has a real pair and can be one with the noodle!)
grams and ava drinking "the one and original texas twister drink"...it is delicious, if you go to the stock show, you have to try one....mmmmmmmmm....good! ava drank the first one by herself, so we had to go get a refill for grams and i to share...that girl is a camel, i tell you!
ava loved watching the cowboys at the rodeo....she especially liked when they would get bucked off the horse....silly girl!
watching the rodeo...i think a guy just got bucked off a horse here...
the lineup before the national anthem.
ava tasting her first cotton candy...or fairy floss (a new term i have learned from some sweet aussie lady friends)
oh my gosh...this girl loves a pony ride...look at that sweet smile, she's in heaven!
loving every second...this was actually her second ride...she suckered her popo to let her go one more time and then cried when it was over...we may have a little cowgirl on our hands!oh my gosh!!! total craziness around this house today! ava has been such a little cutie and just silly as ever. after her nap she was doing her standing up, bending over, putting her head on the ground looking between her legs...and then out of nowhere she did a forward roll. we clapped and said "yay", but i figured it was just one of those strange things that might happen....but then out of nowhere, she did two more! i have a little tumbler! it's so funny...i have no idea where she has seen this...i definitly did not teach her! anyway, had to share her newly discovered talent...hopefully i can catch this on video, it's pretty cute!

our constant source of toddler entertainment! we have been doing good, passing around a cold...i had it first, then bo, and now, of course, ava has it. i was hoping it would skip her, but we were not so lucky. she is in pretty good spirits, though. i actually think she's almost worked her way through it, thank goodness! she had her 18 month appointment last week and, she is still, officially "perfect"! and we didn't have the crying on the scale, crying on when the doctor looked in her eyes, looked in her ears, listened to her breathing, or just looked at her...so that was a plus! we did have some tears when nurse annie gave her one vaccine...i was just glad it was only one...not five like at past visits. ava was actually very playful with the doctor. after the doctor shined the light in ava's eyes, she would let her blow on the tool to turn off the light...ava loved this game, so they played it after the eyes AND each ear! she aslo was very talkative...we were in a room with fish border around the wall and ava said "fishy" and then she was the picture of the doctor's puppy and said "puppy" and then panted like a dog. and then she spoke some avish "alsmojshhsnoyhslhmehehed..daddy" avish usually ends with "daddy" or "elmo" or "mommy" or "good girl" it's pretty cute! so anyway, the doctor seemed to enjoy her little show and it was a good visit! can't believe i am the mom of a 19 month old!
happy new year everyone! we had a great last day of 2008 out at lake granbury with some friends. ava had such a great time playing outside with jacob and jonathan...she loves them! we went to eat at babe's, hadn't been there forever, it was just as good as i remembered! got home about 10:30 and actually fell asleep before midnight....oops! oh well, it was a great end to 2008!
